MV Kanangra

The MV ''Kanangra'' (formerly SS ''Kanangra'') was a ferry operated by Sydney Ferries Limited and its successors on Sydney Harbour from 1912 until 1985.
==History==
The ''Kanangra'' was built by Mort's Dock, Woolwich for Sydney Ferries Limited, being launched on 14 August 1912.〔(Steel Ferry Boat Kanagara Launched ) ''Sydney Morning Herald'' 15 August 1912〕
In 1959, it was converted from steam to diesel-electric power, the last of the fleet converted. As the largest ferry in the fleet, it primarily operated on the most heavily patronised services, initially the Circular Quay to Milsons Point services until the Harbour Bridge opened in 1932, and then on the worker's services to Cockatoo Island and later Mosman and Taronga Zoo services.〔(SS/MV Kanangara ) Ferries of Sydney〕〔(Sydney Ferry Kanagara ) ''Afloat Magazine'' August 2012〕
It was withdrawn in 1985 and donated to the Sydney Heritage Fleet. It was moored in Darling Harbour in the position currently occupied by the ''South Steyne'', before moving to Rozelle Bay.〔
